Mount Logan (North) Wilderness Area

Mount Logan (North) Wilderness Area spans 7,128 acres of federally protected backcountry in Arizona, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. As a designated Wilderness, the area is closed to motorized vehicles, mountain bikes, and mechanized travel of any kind—access is by foot or horseback only, and the landscape remains primitive and undeveloped.

The area offers backcountry hiking and backpacking for visitors seeking solitude and a genuine wilderness experience. There are no maintained trails, facilities, or services; travel requires map and compass navigation skills and self-sufficiency. All visitors must follow Leave No Trace principles: pack out all waste, camp away from water sources, use established campsites where possible, and travel quietly to minimize impact on the landscape and wildlife.

Access is limited to foot traffic and non-motorized means. Seasons vary by elevation and weather; spring and fall typically offer the most stable conditions, while winter can bring snow and harsh conditions depending on elevation. Summer heat is a concern in the lower desert portions. Plan accordingly and check local conditions with the BLM before visiting.
