Mill Creek Wilderness

Mill Creek Wilderness is a 17,173-acre federally protected Wilderness Area in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. It offers primitive backcountry hiking and backpacking in a non-motorized landscape where solitude and untracked terrain are central to the experience.

As a designated Wilderness, the area is closed to roads, motorized travel, and mechanized equipment. Visitors must travel on foot and camp responsibly under Leave No Trace principles—packing out all waste, camping away from water sources, and keeping fires minimal or prohibited depending on conditions. Access is typically from trailheads on National Forest land; check with the managing Forest Service district for current conditions, seasonal closures, and any permit requirements before planning your visit.
