Marble Mountain Wilderness

Marble Mountain Wilderness is a 225,301-acre federally designated Wilderness Area in California, managed by the Forest Service. It protects primitive backcountry landscape accessible only on foot or horseback—no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted. The terrain supports backpacking, hiking, and horseback travel across a non-motorized landscape where solitude and Leave No Trace ethics are fundamental to the visitor experience.

Access requires foot or stock travel from trailheads outside the wilderness boundary. Seasonal snow and weather patterns govern accessibility; summer and early fall offer the most reliable conditions for backcountry travel. Visitors must plan for self-sufficiency, carry water and supplies, and adhere to wilderness regulations that protect the area's primitive character.
