Little High Rock Canyon Wilderness Area

Little High Rock Canyon Wilderness Area spans nearly 48,350 acres of federally protected backcountry in Nevada, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is primitive, roadless terrain where only foot and pack traffic are permitted—no motors, bicycles, or mechanized equipment of any kind.

The wilderness offers hiking and backpacking opportunities across remote country where solitude is the defining character. Visitors should expect true backcountry conditions: navigation by map and compass, self-sufficiency in water and camp, and strict Leave No Trace discipline. There are no developed trails, facilities, or services within the area.

Access is on foot only, typically from trailheads on surrounding public land. Plan for spring through fall travel; winter conditions can be severe. Come prepared for variable weather, carry all water needs or be prepared to treat what you find, and know that rescue response time is measured in hours or days. This is a place for experienced backcountry users who understand wilderness rules and are comfortable with genuine remoteness.
