Little Frog Mountain Wilderness

Little Frog Mountain Wilderness is a 5,635-acre federally protected backcountry area in Tennessee, managed by the Forest Service. This is genuine wilderness: no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted. It's a place for hiking and backpacking where solitude and primitive conditions are the defining character.

Visitors should expect to travel on foot only, pack out everything they pack in, and follow Leave No Trace principles strictly. The wilderness designation means you're entering land preserved in its natural state—there are no facilities, no maintained infrastructure beyond trails, and no allowance for mountain bikes or other mechanized equipment. This is backcountry travel in its truest form.
