Lime Canyon Wilderness Area protects nearly 24,000 acres of primitive backcountry in Nevada under federal designation. As a protected Wilderness, the area is closed to motorized vehicles, mountain bikes, and mechanized travel of any kind—it is foot traffic and horseback travel only. The landscape offers remote hiking and backpacking through undeveloped terrain where solitude is the main draw. Visitors must follow Leave No Trace principles rigorously: pack out all waste, camp away from water sources, and leave no trace of your passage. There are no developed trails, facilities, or roads within the Wilderness; access is typically from Bureau of Land Management lands adjacent to the boundary. Spring and fall offer moderate temperatures ideal for multi-day trips, though weather and water availability should be researched before you go. This is genuine backcountry—come prepared for self-sufficiency, navigation, and minimal human impact.
