Lee Metcalf Wilderness Area

Lee Metcalf Wilderness Area is a 6,339-acre federally designated Wilderness in Montana managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This primitive backcountry landscape offers visitors a true non-motorized experience where solitude and self-reliance are central to the visit.

Hiking and backpacking are the primary ways to explore the area. The Wilderness is closed to all motorized travel, mechanized equipment, and mountain bikes—access is by foot only.
