Kingston Range Wilderness Area

Kingston Range Wilderness Area is a 266,560-acre federally protected Wilderness in California, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This remote backcountry landscape offers solitude and primitive recreation for those prepared to travel on foot or horseback, with no roads, motorized vehicles, or mechanized travel permitted within its boundaries.

The area is suited to hiking and backpacking for visitors seeking a true wilderness experience away from developed infrastructure. Like all federally designated Wilderness, it operates under strict Leave No Trace principles: you must pack out everything you pack in, camp responsibly away from water sources where permitted, and travel only by foot or stock animal.
