Kanab Creek Wilderness

Kanab Creek Wilderness is a 61,501-acre federally protected wilderness area in Arizona managed by the Forest Service. The landscape is primitive backcountry where motorized travel, mechanized equipment, and roads are prohibited—visitors experience true non-motorized wilderness. Hiking and backpacking are the primary ways to explore this remote terrain, offering genuine solitude far from developed facilities.

Visiting means committing to Leave No Trace principles and self-sufficiency. There are no maintained trails, ranger stations, or services within the wilderness boundary. Access is typically on foot from trailheads outside the wilderness; all travel is by boot. Seasonal snow and weather can affect passability, especially in winter months.
