Hauser Wilderness

Hauser Wilderness is a 7,197-acre federally protected wilderness area in California, managed by the Forest Service. It is designated for primitive, non-motorized backcountry use and offers solitude and untrammeled landscape for those willing to travel on foot or horseback.

The wilderness welcomes hiking and backpacking as its primary recreation. Visitors should expect no roads, no motorized travel, and no mechanized transport of any kind. This is genuine backcountry—a place where human presence is minimal and the landscape remains largely undeveloped.
