Goshute Canyon Wilderness Area

Goshute Canyon Wilderness Area spans over 42,000 acres of federally protected backcountry in Nevada, managed by the Bureau of Land Management as a true Wilderness Area. The landscape offers primitive terrain suited to hikers and backpackers seeking remote, non-motorized travel through undeveloped country.

This is a no-roads, no-motors zone. All travel must be on foot or horseback; mechanized equipment, bicycles, and motorized vehicles are prohibited. Visitors are expected to follow Leave No Trace principles—pack out what you pack in, camp responsibly, and minimize your footprint on the land. The wilderness character means limited infrastructure, few or no maintained trails, and genuine solitude for those willing to navigate rugged terrain.

Access and seasonality depend on weather and water availability in the high-desert region. Spring and fall typically offer the most stable conditions, though summer is also viable. Winter can bring snow and harsh conditions that make travel difficult. Plan accordingly, bring adequate water and navigation tools, and be prepared for true backcountry conditions.
