Glacier View Wilderness

Glacier View Wilderness is a 3,051-acre federally protected wilderness area in Washington, managed by the Forest Service. It offers backcountry hiking and backpacking in a primitive, non-motorized setting where solitude and undeveloped landscape are the draw.

As a designated Wilderness Area, the landscape here is free of roads, motorized equipment, and mechanized travel of any kind. Visitors access the area on foot, and the experience is shaped by Leave No Trace principles—pack out what you pack in, camp responsibly, and travel lightly through the terrain. This is backcountry in its truest sense: self-reliant travel through undeveloped country.

Access is seasonal and depends on snowmelt and weather conditions typical of Washington's mountain country. Summer and early fall are the most reliable windows for hiking and backpacking. Plan accordingly for alpine conditions and come prepared for remote, self-sufficient travel.
