El Toro Wilderness

El Toro Wilderness is a 10,361-acre federally protected wilderness area in Puerto Rico, managed by the Forest Service. It offers primitive backcountry hiking and backpacking in a non-motorized setting where solitude and Leave No Trace principles are central to the experience.

As a designated Wilderness Area, El Toro is closed to roads, motors, and mechanized travel. Visitors must travel on foot, carrying what they need and packing out all waste.
