About East Fork Wilderness
East Fork Wilderness is a 10,585-acre federally protected wilderness area in Arkansas managed by the Forest Service. The landscape offers primitive backcountry terrain suited to hikers and backpackers seeking solitude away from developed infrastructure. All motorized and mechanized travel is prohibited—there are no roads or mountain-bike corridors within the wilderness boundary. Visitors must travel on foot, respect Leave No Trace principles, and pack out everything they pack in. This is true wilderness: quiet, roadless, and demanding self-reliance from anyone who enters.
