Cedar Roughs Wilderness Area

Cedar Roughs Wilderness Area spans 6,450 acres of federally protected backcountry in California, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The terrain offers primitive hiking and backpacking in a non-motorized setting where solitude and self-reliance define the experience.

Visitors should expect genuine wilderness conditions—no roads, no motorized equipment, and no mechanized travel of any kind. This is Leave No Trace country: pack out what you pack in, camp responsibly, and travel lightly on the land. The federal Wilderness designation means the landscape is protected from development and kept in its natural state.
