Bristol Cliffs Wilderness

Bristol Cliffs Wilderness is a 3,750-acre federally protected Wilderness Area in Vermont managed by the Forest Service. The landscape is remote and primitive backcountry, preserved for its natural character and designed for visitors seeking solitude and untracked exploration.

Hiking and backpacking are the primary ways to experience this wilderness. There are no roads, motorized vehicles, or mechanized travel allowed—the area is managed under strict Wilderness rules that require all visitors to practice Leave No Trace principles. Access is non-motorized only, and the terrain is designed for foot traffic and self-reliant travel.
