Bristlecone Wilderness Area

Bristlecone Wilderness Area encompasses 14,329 acres of federally protected backcountry in Nevada, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is primitive country where motorized travel, mechanized transport, and roads are prohibited—the defining character of any federally designated Wilderness Area. Visitors come here to hike and backpack in genuine solitude, away from development and the noise of the outside world.

Access is on foot or horseback only. Leave No Trace principles are not optional; they are the ethical and legal foundation of wilderness use. Camp away from water sources, pack out all waste, and tread lightly on the landscape. The remote terrain demands self-reliance, good navigation skills, and respect for the rules that protect this wild space for future generations.
