Bridge Creek Wilderness

Bridge Creek Wilderness is a 5,337-acre federally protected backcountry area in Oregon managed by the Forest Service. This is primitive country where motorized travel, mechanized equipment, and developed infrastructure have no place — it exists to preserve wild character and solitude.

Hiking and backpacking are the primary draws here. You'll travel on foot only, carrying what you need, moving at a human pace through undeveloped terrain. The wilderness demands Leave No Trace ethics: pack out everything you pack in, camp on durable surfaces away from water sources, and leave no trace of your passage.

Access requires a short drive to trailheads on the periphery, then all travel is non-motorized. Seasons matter in the Oregon backcountry—late spring through early fall offers the most reliable window for safe passage, though snow, weather, and stream crossings can challenge any trip.
