About Bridge Canyon Wilderness Area

Bridge Canyon Wilderness Area protects nearly 8,000 acres of remote backcountry in Nevada under federal Wilderness designation. This is primitive terrain managed by the National Park Service—no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted. Visitors come here for backpacking and hiking in solitude, with the expectation that you'll travel on foot and leave no trace of your passage.

Access is limited and trailhead infrastructure minimal, as befits a true Wilderness Area. Plan for self-sufficiency: bring all water and supplies you'll need, camp only in dispersed sites (no developed facilities), and pack out everything you pack in. Winter conditions and extreme heat in summer can make travel difficult; spring and fall are generally the most reliable seasons. Come prepared for isolation and for the reality that this place exists to preserve wildland character, not to accommodate crowds or comfort.
