Boulder River Wilderness

Boulder River Wilderness is a 49,249-acre federally protected wilderness area in Washington, managed by the Forest Service. It offers backcountry hiking and backpacking in a primitive, roadless landscape where motorized travel and mechanized equipment are prohibited. Visitors seeking solitude and untrammeled terrain will find the wilderness relatively undeveloped—no maintained infrastructure or modern amenities. Access is limited to non-motorized routes, and the area operates under strict Leave No Trace principles. Summer and early fall are the primary seasons; winter conditions and spring snowmelt can render high-elevation terrain impassable. Plan accordingly for self-sufficiency, as this is true backcountry with no services.
