Bigelow Cholla Garden Wilderness Area

Bigelow Cholla Garden Wilderness Area is a 15,534-acre federally protected Wilderness in California managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is primitive backcountry where motorized travel, mechanized equipment, and roads are prohibited—the landscape is shaped for foot travel only, rewarding visitors who come prepared for self-reliance and Leave No Trace ethics.

The area offers hiking and backpacking across open desert terrain characterized by cholla cactus and native plant communities.
