Fernwood

Fernwood is a former ski area in Pennsylvania, now abandoned. Located in the northeastern part of the state at an elevation of 539 feet, it operated with a modest 80-foot vertical drop. The area is no longer in operation, and little remains of its former infrastructure. Visiting the site today offers only a look at what was once a small regional ski destination, though access and the current state of the property are unclear. Those interested in the history of small ski areas in the Northeast may find it worth investigating, but there are no active skiing, riding, or winter sports facilities here.
