Chestnut Ridge

Chestnut Ridge is a former ski area in West Virginia, now abandoned. The area sits at 2,168 feet of elevation with a modest 45-foot vertical drop, reflecting the modest terrain typical of Appalachian ski operations. There is little to visit today — the infrastructure has been shuttered and the slopes are no longer maintained or groomed. The site remains primarily of interest to those documenting defunct ski areas or exploring the history of winter recreation in the region.
