Trinity National Forest

Trinity National Forest spans nearly half a million acres in northern California, offering backcountry hiking, dispersed camping, and fishing across mixed conifer and oak woodland terrain. The forest provides access to remote trails, alpine lakes, and river corridors suitable for backpacking and wilderness exploration. Fishing opportunities exist throughout the forest in streams and lakes, while dispersed camping allows visitors to set up camp in undeveloped areas away from established facilities.

The forest experiences heavy snow and difficult access during winter months, with peak recreation occurring in summer and early fall when high-elevation passes and trails are snow-free. Spring and late fall are shoulder seasons with variable conditions.
