Teton National Forest

Teton National Forest spans over 201,000 acres in northwestern Wyoming and offers a full range of public-land recreation across diverse terrain. The forest supports hiking and backpacking on numerous trails, dispersed camping throughout its borders, fly-fishing in streams and lakes, and scenic driving on forest roads. Hunting seasons draw visitors in fall and winter, and wildlife viewing is available year-round in appropriate habitat.

Access is generally good from nearby communities, though seasonal snow and weather close or restrict high-elevation routes from late fall through spring. Summer and early fall are the primary recreation seasons when trails are clear and dispersed camping is most practical. Winter use is possible at lower elevations, but plan for snow-covered terrain and shorter daylight at higher elevations.
