Olympic National Forest

Olympic National Forest spans nearly 450,000 acres across Washington state and provides a mix of forested terrain and alpine country. The forest offers trails ranging from day hikes to longer backpacking routes, dispersed camping options throughout its boundaries, and fishing in streams and lakes. Hunting and scenic driving are also available, with access points scattered across the forest.

Visiting is practical year-round, though conditions vary significantly by season. Summer and early fall bring the most reliable weather and widest trail access. Winter brings heavy snow at higher elevations and wet conditions at lower ones, which can close or complicate travel on many routes. Spring and late fall are transitional seasons with variable conditions.
