Inferno Cone

Idaho

About

The steep 0.4 mi (0.8 km) trail to the top of Inferno Cone is challenging, but it rewards hikers with 360-degree views of the Great Rift, the Snake River Plain, and the Pioneer Mountains. On clear days, you may even see the Teton Range, 100 miles to the east. Make the strenuous climb to the top, or enjoy scenic views from the overlook near the parking area. Caution: This open, exposed trail can be hazardous in high winds. Corresponds to #5 on the park brochure map.
